4 Days /3 Night
Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe
Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our representative who will assist with your transfer to your hotel in Entebbe. The remainder of the day is yours to relax, recover from your journey, and prepare for the adventure ahead.
Day 2: Fly to Bwindi & Batwa Community Visit
06h3 : Enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before transferring to Entebbe Airport for your domestic flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
08h00 Board your flight to Bwindi. The 1.5-hour journey offers spectacular aerial views of Uganda’s landscapes and rolling hills.
09h30 Upon arrival at the airstrip, transfer by road (approximately 1 hour) to your lodge located near the park.
12h30 Check in and enjoy lunch at the lodge.
15h00 In the afternoon, visit the Batwa community for an insightful cultural experience. Learn about the Batwa people’s forest traditions, hunting techniques, and way of life before conservation efforts led to their relocation.
Evening: Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
06h30: After an early breakfast, transfer to the Bwindi Park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing by Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers.
08h00: Begin your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure. You’ll be assigned to a small group led by an experienced guide, who will lead you through the dense forest in search of one of the habituated gorilla families. The trek may take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location.
Upon sighting the gorillas, you will spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat—an unforgettable wildlife encounter.13h00: After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon at leisure to rest or reflect on the day.
Evening: Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Return to Entebbe & Departure
07h00: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at the lodge before checking out.
08h00: Transfer to the airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Entebbe.
09h00: Flight departs from Bwindi to Entebbe.
12h00: Arrive at Entebbe International Airport in the afternoon for your departure flight.
NOTE: If you have a late evening or night flight, please let us know in advance so we can arrange a room for you in Entebbe at an additional cost.
You will be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or have the option of an overnight stay in Kampala at an additional cost.
Important Notes
- Gorilla trekking permits must be secured in advance due to limited availability.
- Participants must be 15 years or older to trek gorillas.
- Gorilla permit fees are non-refundable.
- A reasonable level of fitness is required for trekking, Porters are available to assist with your belongings.
What to Pack for Gorilla Trekking
- A raincoat and a sweater for unpredictable weather
- A hat and sunglasses for sun protection
- Hand gloves to protect your hands from sharp branches
- Sturdy hiking boots with good grip
- Long-sleeved tops and trousers in neutral colors (cream, brown, green, etc.)
- Insect repellent
- Long stockings to tuck into your pants
- A trekking stick (provided at the park, but feel free to bring your own)
- A camera with a strong battery and ample memory storage
